West Africa Broadcast & Media Academy

Training that gets you working in broadcast, journalism and digital media

WABMA is a practice-led media academy. You learn in working studios, on real equipment, from trainers who still practise — on campus in Abuja, Enugu and Lagos, or online from anywhere in West Africa.

Why WABMA

A working academy, not a lecture hall

WABMA exists to close the gap between media training and the newsroom floor. Every course is designed around the work you will actually be asked to do.
  • Classes stay small enough to get hands on the kit
  • Curriculum written around live industry practice
  • Regional reach — Nigeria, Ghana, The Gambia and online

Studio-based practice

You train on working radio, TV and digital equipment — not from a slide deck.

Trainers who still practise

Sessions are led by working broadcasters, journalists and producers.

Online or on campus

Join live online cohorts from anywhere, or train at a campus in Abuja, Enugu or Lagos.

Certificate on completion

Courses end with a WABMA certificate. Exact wording and any accreditation details are being confirmed by the academy [to confirm].

Graduates, in their own words

Three testimonial slots are reserved and ready. The SOW requires named students, real outcomes and permission-cleared photos — so these stay empty until WABMA supplies them rather than carrying anonymous praise.

Content still needed from WABMA

This page is built on WABMA's own published facts and photography. Everything in the list below is deliberately left out or marked rather than invented. Send these across and they drop straight in.

  • Learners trained since inception — verified figure for the trust strip
  • Fee schedule — one approved source (shop vs tuition page disagree)
  • Application vs registration fee wording, and foreign-currency equivalents
  • Course durations/hours — the “72h” figure on course cards is unexplained
  • Three student testimonials: name, course, year, photo and permission
  • Client logos: usage permission for EFCC, The Gambia Police Force and partners
  • Certificate wording and any accreditation or affiliation claims
  • Campus street addresses — Lagos and Enugu appear in more than one version
  • Next cohort start dates and the courses included in each intake
  • Trainer profiles: names, roles, credentials and portraits
  • Results and participation figures for the published project case studies
  • Permission for the photography currently used on the page
